Increased Surveillance for Historical City Center

May 8th, 2005 ·

The city of Faenza will increase the number of surveillance cameras in the historic city center, officials announced today. Three more cameras will be added to the area to enhance the security of the citizens of Faneza County and tourist who frequently visit the historic site. City officials are working closely with Arteco, the leader in Intelligent Video Surveillance to increase the security in the city center.

Arteco’s Intelligent Video Solution (IVS) now protects six different locations throughout the city. The system uses intelligent analysis of video to monitor for traffic violations at major intersections such as speeding, or illegal u-turn. It also counts the number of vehicles crossing the intersection to help city planners understand traffic patterns during rush hour. In the city square, the intelligent analysis detects for specific security threats such as abandoned objects, and can alert officials to security indicators such as quickly forming or dispersing crowds.
