Let’s imagine a very common situation, such as an installation with about ten cameras: if the interface is “passive” or indiscriminately reports every form of movement, after a short time the attention of the person responsible for monitoring the images will drop below the level necessary to insure accurate detection.

 

Therefore, what’s needed is a device that “drives” his or her attention to the only scene in which something is happening. The ARTECO-IVS alerts personnel in real-time with a series of visual and audible triggers. First, using the “Pop-Up” feature, only events of interest are pushed to the monitoring screen. The camera where the event took place flashes with a red outline and an alert is sounded through the monitoring workstation. Events are also reported in the “Event Log” instantly showing vital information on where, when and what event has taken place. Events remain red until the operator acknowledges the event when it changes white and the operator USER ID and the date/time of viewing is associated to the event.

The Event Log create a security “Audit Trail” for more efficient management of your personnel resources. All log information is easily exportable to a spreadsheet format. This data allows managers to understand valuable information such as the average response time to security events by monitoring staff and how many events are taking place on a per camera basis to help uncover potential problem areas within their security environment. With an active ARTECO-IVS, fewer monitoring guards can do the work of many, managing more cameras efficiently and effectively.

Once the event is alerted, the guard can assess the live view and double-click the logged event-line to view the recording. The event-details clearly show what triggered the event.

Once the situation is assessed the guard takes the appropriate counter-measure.

Video can be easily exported and distributed to personnel in the field via email. Guards can easily see simultaneous recorded video from any camera at the site to get a complete understanding of the security situation. The IVS can integrate through low/voltage input/output to trigger activation of other devices with security events take place. This allows IVS detected events to activate sirens, lights or locking doors. Guards can also activate these integrated devices with a click of a button within ARTECO-LOGIC software.
